MEGAN MUSSO,
MA, CCC-L/SLP, IBCLC

A Lake Charles native, Megan (Smith) Musso is a speech-language pathologist with a special interest for treating children and infants with feeding and swallowing disorders. Upon completing her masters in Communication Disorders at Louisiana State University, Megan pursued her passion for pediatric care in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas. During these early professional years, Megan enhanced her knowledge and skills through her unique and diverse experiences working with the pediatric population, which included medically fragile infants, adolescents with special needs, and normal developing children with oral aversion or "picky eating".

Megan returned to Lake Charles in 2015 where she continued working as a speech-language pathologist. Upon recognizing the need for specialized pediatric feeding therapy within the Lake Charles community, Megan established Magnolia Pediatric Therapy.

Throughout her career, she has worked alongside esteemed members of several specialty disciplines -- including ENT's, craniofacial surgeons, child psychologists, applied behavioral analysts, occupational and physical therapists, lactation consultants, chiropractors and pediatric dentists -- and continues to pursue such collaborations with other professionals as it benefits each individual patient.

Complimenting her passion for feeding, Megan also has a love for early intervention. She has provided services to the birth to three population through Early Steps and private practice since entering the field. Through early intervention therapy, Megan enjoys teaching the family how to become an integral part in helping their little one to achieve their speech, language and feeding goals.

Megan holds certification with the Louisiana Board of Speech-Language Pathologists and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She is also now licensed as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has really enjoyed working with moms and babies to help them reach their breastfeeding goals.
